Welcome to CCREEF!

I was five years old, and my teacher gave out my first science book. I flipped to the first page and saw a whale breaching. My life changed forever. Immediately, I knew that this was what I wanted to do with my life!

I was unaware of his or her career. The only thing I remember was telling the teacher, "That's who I want to be when I grow up." It caught my fascination with marine life from that exact moment. My teacher ended up giving me that book in which I still have today.

In middle school we had career day and I quickly learned that my dream career was to become a Marine Biologist.
But concluded, how this career may not actually be for me because how little a Marine Biologist made. And most spend their lives seeking government funding and relying on grants, I changed my mind.

At the age of twelve, I obtained my certification as a scuba diver through NAUI. At a young age, I started working to acquire my scuba diving equipment.

During my dives I was uncertain of what I was seeing, and I was frantically trying to acquire more knowledge. Upon making a few calls, I discovered that Cynthiana, my hometown, had a store that sold saltwater fish and corals. From that point forward, I acquired tanks, a ton of corals, and fish. I essentially lived at that store, and it took every penny I earned. At the age of 13, I was asked if I was interested in starting a job. I didn’t think twice. It wasn’t long and I was working every day after school, on the weekends. In no time I became the sales manager and took over placing orders through wholesalers and distributors.

I didn’t think twice. It wasn’t long and I was working every day after school, on the weekends. In no time I became the sales manager and took over placing orders through wholesalers and distributors.

Off and on I have been in business officially for 11 years. I have been a hobbyist, for 19 years.
At the age of 15, I officially started my first business, a storefront at Chris's Corals in Cynthiana, KY from 2002 to 2007. At that time, I ended up relocating to an apartment on Bardstown Rd. Louisville, Ky and enrolled in college. To help reduce store overhead, I only operated the business locally through the apartment and on eBay and started selling corals to other local retailers. I operated the business from 2008 until 2012.

After graduating from college, I bought a house and took a brief break from the business, stopping all sales. Until I could pay off the mortgage. Taking this break was important to me because if I could accomplish it. It would significantly lessen the likelihood of financial stress or bankruptcy in the future.

Using my passion to fuel my drive, I paid off the mortgage and made my corals available to the public once more, less than 3 years later.

I created a Facebook group called Christopher Coomer Coral Reef Enthusiast. Hence the name CCREEF

Expanding into a retail location is something I have the option of doing. My needs and desires have shifted. I have a full-time job, a family that I love, and I am a husband and father. Time is the only thing I don't have. So, even though I have a license, and I sell corals it’s truly a hobby for me and I’m not seeking to grow or expand it more than what, I already am.

My intention in creating this website was to allow other hobbyists to purchase corals that have outgrown my aquarium and require an easier method for re-homing.

Please be aware of the following:
At this point, I am not planning on selling invertebrates or fish until I have sourced a supplier and I have a larger operation. Please don’t expect weekly updates and new postings. Despite the fact that I have made my policies to incorporate those species mentioned above.I do not plan on receiving large orders. This is how you end up with diseases, parasites, or unwanted pets. I am not a chop shop. All corals are fully grown and raised and are extremely hardy.

The corals are from my personal tanks and because of that I take great pride in keeping it algae and pest free.

Wholesale is a service I offer, and I am open to large bulk purchases. My collection contains around 180 Zoanthid species. I would highly recommend purchasing something if you come across it.

Due to my abundance of wholesalers, I typically sell around 1000 frags per week when I frag and list items. I'm not exaggerating!

Coral that has been cut and posted on this site has been in my system for a minimum of 4 weeks or longer. Unless I explicitly state otherwise. I will make sure to include as much data as I can in my listings.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your order or the content on this website, please don't hesitate to contact me via phone or email.

I appreciate you visiting my online collection.
I am thrilled to provide you with an exceptional online experience. I am here to assist you at any time.
